Prelude
Somewhere I hoped to stop
And listen
To the thousand unspoken words
I wanted to say to you.
But I forgot them
Forgot everything else
But how to trust
Believe I could see your face
In that faded dream.
I reach for you with cold fingertips
The frozen air already
Creeping under my skin
Need that touch like nothing else.
Around me, the dizzy world spins
And I daydream
If you daydream too
Of what must be, must become.
The blanks yet to be filled: taste, touch,
And that nameless something deep within.
And if I remembered
Those thousand silent words
What lifetime do I speak from?
And if I could lift my pen for an instant
Would I go insane?
If my hands stop, I will surely scream...
